Our Church Plant Plan

How are you planting?

We highly value community and relationships. Therefore, we are beginning with small group communities called Life Groups and will soon bring them together as one organized Launch Team.

Where Do You Gather?

Right now, we are looking for a central gathering space. However, our Life Groups meet throughout the week in homes and businesses all over the area of Willis and Conroe, TX.

Locations Include:

Tropical Smoothie Cafe

B52 Brewery

Guadalaharry’s Bar and Grill

Local Disc Golf Courses

Conroe Regional Airport (CXO)

What is the timeline and goal?

The end goal is to become a self-sustaining independent church in 4 years. The ultimate goal is to “plant pregnant” meaning we are planting with the future of another church plant in mind down the road. For the first 4 years, we don’t have a timeline but rather something called a “phase-line.”

What is your Discipleship Pathway?

We have a discipleship highway. Everyone is in a different lane of their faith journey. We are always looking to help you take the next step and change to the next lane until you are in the carpool lane where you are helping other people navigate their own faith!

The Pathway:

1) Connecting Disciple: Hearing about Jesus through a personal relationship.

2) Curious Disciple: Engaging with Christianity, asking questions and learning about Jesus through worship and Life Groups

3) Converting Disciple: Believing in Jesus and baptism.

4) Committing Disciple: Going through our New Member Process and Missionary Pathway to become part of Oikos Church. This also includes, involvement in or leading a Life Group, intentional serving and giving.

5) Carpooling Disciple: You are a sent disciple maker! Now you are walking alongside other people to disciple them in the faith.

How is the church plant funded?

Oikos Church is a part of a church planting network called The Harvest Partnership. We believe in open handed generosity of the 5 capitals: Spiritual, Relational, Physical, Intellectual, and Financial. To get started Oikos Church was given seed money through the partnership in order to call a church plant pastor and cover his salary and benefits for the first 4 years. Therefore, all donations, gifts, grants, etc. that come in go straight towards ministry until we are an independent church.

If you feel moved to give to Oikos Church, we encourage you to check out our giving page!
