Why “Oikos” Church?

The word Oikos comes from the Greek word meaning “household” or “family.” In the Bible, OIKOS describes more than a physical house—it points to a people who share life together, a community marked by belonging, care, and connection.

We chose the name Oikos because we believe God created us for relationship. Our world and community is filled with many people who feel isolated, disconnected and in need of a place to belong. The church is called to be a family where people can find hope, purpose, and community through Jesus.

Willis, TX is a rapidly growing area where new homes are being built and new neighbors are arriving every day. Yet beneath the growth is a deeper need: people are starting over in a new place and they are looking for connection, relationships, and a place where they are known. Oikos exists to welcome people into a spiritual home where they can encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and share life with others.

Jesus didn’t come to rebuild buildings. He came to save people!

We believe the church is not just a building people show up to or an event that they attend; it is a family. Through Jesus, God welcomes us into His household, and together we are called to extend that welcome to the world around us.
